Solidarity Is Global Institute (SIGI) has completed a specialized training program in professional photography and mobile phone maintenance, as part of the project “Masahat Amineh – Policies to Combat Violence in Work and Employment Environments”, supported by the African Women’s Development Fund. A total of 60 young women from Irbid, Amman, and Zarqa participated in the program, selected through nominations from several local partner organizations.

The training aimed to equip participants with the technical and practical skills necessary to enter today’s digital labor market. It offered a real opportunity to strengthen their capabilities and prepare them to meet the growing demand for attractive visual content across social media and digital platforms. Professional women photographers, in particular, are creating diverse job opportunities, and through these courses, SIGI seeks to empower young women to market their skills with confidence and open wider horizons for professional success.

SIGI also highlights that mobile phone maintenance has become a priority skill within its capacity-building program for young women job-seekers. It not only enhances their technical abilities to face labor market challenges but also equips them to deal with issues such as cyberbullying and online violence. In addition, it creates opportunities for them to launch small businesses or secure employment.

Rana Abu Al-Sundus, Head of Programs and Activities at SIGI, emphasized that these courses are not just about providing technical skills but represent a true investment in the participants’ futures, enabling them to achieve financial independence.

She added that through such training, SIGI aims to create an environment that encourages young women to share their interests and skills with the private sector and civil society organizations, fostering a spirit of cooperation and solidarity in overcoming challenges. She noted that these efforts fall within SIGI’s strategic goals of strengthening women’s roles and empowering them across various fields, particularly in the technology sector, where women’s participation remains limited.
