Dr. Khalil Aqla Al-Abdalat has departed the Prime Ministry after a distinguished career spanning more than three decades, during which he held several prominent positions and responsibilities, most notably heading the Human Rights Unit and representing Jordan in numerous regional and international forums related to human rights, development, and justice.
Al-Abdalat shared a heartfelt farewell message in which he expressed his pride and honor in serving within Jordanian state institutions for 32 years, affirming that serving the homeland was never merely a job for him, but rather “an honor, a mission, and an endless sense of belonging.”
In his message, he said:
“At this moment, where feelings of pride blend with gratitude and loyalty with nostalgia, I stand today after a journey that extended over thirty-two years of work and dedication in service to the homeland and the Jordanian state. During this time, I had the honor of being part of the esteemed Prime Ministry, which carried the responsibility of nation-building, safeguarding the state, and serving citizens under the banner of the homeland and its wise Hashemite leadership.
It was my great honor to serve in the Prime Ministry and to be a loyal soldier in the service of His Hashemite Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, contributing, to the best of my ability, to the journey of this homeland, which has always been and will remain a symbol of dignity, moderation, and humanity.
Throughout these years, I carried the responsibility of representing Jordan in numerous regional and international delegations and forums, defending Jordan’s bright image and its message founded on wisdom, the rule of law, moderation, and deep belief in human dignity and rights. Every task and every position of responsibility was a national school through which I learned that serving Jordan is not merely a job, but an honor, a mission, and an endless sense of belonging.
These are moments in which one revisits the memories of a lifetime and reflects on how happiness always built for us homes of hope, goodness, and trust, and how the homeland was present in every step, every success, and every challenge we faced with the faith of loyal men devoted to this pure land.
Today, as this official phase of my professional journey comes to an end, I do not see it as the end of the road, but rather the beginning of a new chapter of giving and moving toward broader horizons, carrying my expertise and experience into the fields of development, human rights education, awareness-building, human empowerment, and contributing to strengthening the culture of justice and human dignity at the national, regional, and international levels.
For me, the future is not retirement from serving the homeland, but a transition into a new space of work, productivity, and influence, where we continue fulfilling our mission with greater faith, unwavering determination, and a vision based on investing in people, strengthening citizenship values, consolidating the culture of rights and responsibilities, and believing that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, Arab Army, security institutions, and national organizations, will remain a model of a strong and steadfast state capable of confronting challenges and creating hope.
We shall remain, as you have always known us, loyal to the Crown, devoted to the distinguished Arab Army, supportive of our security institutions, and steadfast in the ranks of the homeland, carrying our heads high with pride in what we have offered, and with faith that the coming phase will be one of construction, confidence, and renewal, defined by sincere work, genuine belonging, and a will that knows no impossibility.
My vision for the future stems from a firm conviction that Jordan possesses exceptional human potential and youth capable of creating change, and that the coming stage requires greater investment in people, education, awareness, and sustainable development, as well as strengthening the culture of dialogue, the rule of law, and human rights, while building national and international partnerships that contribute to reinforcing Jordan’s position as a model of stability, moderation, and humanitarian leadership.
Today, we carry a great moral and national responsibility to remain faithful guardians of the message of the Jordanian state, to pass on experience and values to future generations, and to continue working sincerely for a homeland that deserves so much from us.
May God protect Jordan, preserve His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and continue to bless our homeland with security, stability, and dignity.
The flag shall remain raised… and Jordan will always come first.”
